Review of A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011) by Jon P — 09 Jun 2013
Featuring a junkie baby, a talking robot, a glimpse of White Castle and er, Neil Patrick Harris, the latest, apparently festive, addition to the popular, pot-puffing franchise seems to have everything a good Harold & Kumar fan would expect. However, this doesn't necessarily mean it's worth the watch.
Predictably pathetic plotting and low brow one-liners evoke fond memories of the film's predecessors, yet excessive 3D gags and gimmickry leave the film feeling like an amusement park cinema on a bad trip and it's impossible to ignore the fact that, for the most part, the franchise simply isn't that funny anymore. Either don't go, or keep your expectations low.
