Review of A Touch of Sin (2013) by Trevor W — 06 Apr 2015
A beautifully shot Chinese film about four people that kill due to either paranoia, boredom, self-defense, or poor working conditions. Each character is intriguing and makes the audience understand the character before he/she starts killing.
Sometimes slow, particularly in the second story, it's the films character development and cinematography that keeps interest. The social commentary is thinly veiled, but veiled enough that it doesn't distract from the stories.
The social commentary reaches its peak with the brilliant last shot before the credits roll.
