Review of A Time to Kill (1996) by Tim M — 31 Jan 2010
Amazing all-star cast. Pretty strange the whole thing could have been avoided had the criminals not been segregated in the jail. McCon should have really made sure the trial was somewhere else. The proceedings would have definitely been moved after the cross burnings and arson. But then the national guard and a shooting? What the fuck? Is this taking place in To Kill A Mockingbird times?
I would have preferred a justice tale more like Descent, Taken, Death Sentence and The Brave One, but as court-room dramas go, this excels. Given the films age, it does well.
