Mcconaughey, thanks to his steady lack of standards in terms of film choices, is constantly underrated as an actor. He is, in fact, very good, easily holding his own with the likes of Kevin Spacey and Sandra Bullock in one of his first major roles.
He's fascinating as the morally conflicted lawyer, as shown in the slightly inferior Lincoln Lawyer, and other than his romantic comedies, he's always a bright spot in his films.
