Review of A Time to Kill (1996) by Russ B — 08 Jul 2012
Carl Lee Hailey (Samuel L. Jackson) shoots two men after they brutally rape and beat his daughter leaving her for dead to never be found again. He enlists Jake Tyler Brugance (Matthew McConaughey), to testify his case and brings in the help of Ellen Roark (Sandra Bullock) and Lucien Halbanks (Donald Sutherland), who help Jake bring Carl Lee to the justice he deserves in the state of Mississippi.
This film, in my opinion, is McConaughey at his best along with Bullock, Sutherland and Jackson. If you haven't had the chance of seeing this wonderfully done film by Joel Schmacher, I would suggest adding this to your movie bucket list. You won't be sorry you did.
