Beginning to watch this movie, and it's poster, and eddie murphy's recent acting career, my expectations when watching one thousand words were quite low to begin with. and, unsurprisingly, the movie has few original funny moments.

surely, you laugh a couple of times, but the rest is just joking about people in awkward situations. the thing that sort of 'saves' the movie for me is the fact that the arc of the main character goes somewhere, and it is sort of interesting to see how the relationships work out in the movie.

and that is what saves it from being a complete disaster, because the comedy is balls.
