First off, it doesn't help that the film was actually filmed in 2008 and not released until 2012, so I won't hold the dated humor against this film. On top of that, it's built on old cliches and the only redeeming quality for the the film is it's perspective about a bullshitting businessman who must make every word count.

Lastly, it's very predictable. The film's biggest letdown was when Eddie Murphy went mime about 20 minutes in. He's just not that funny without the crazy rants and rolling banter. The film delivers a nice message but is ultimately a drama with a few chuckles, most of which don't even come from Murphy himself, but from his assistant (played by Clark Duke).

It's more of a family drama than the teen comedy it was dubbed, which may have been the film's first wrong move. See it if you must, but don't expect much. Rated 2 out of 5. Reviewed 6/28/12.
