Review of A Thousand Words (2012) by James D — 28 Jun 2012

Eddie Murphy has been a comedic genius since the beginning of his career, the guy is loud, obnoxious, and just plain funny. This is a little less then the character's you're used to seeing him play though, more of a low key comedy film.

But, I think that it works, great storyline, thought it was very original, and it was all played out well. I also thought the acting was great, not just from Murphy, but by his supporting cast. Clark Duke has to start being in movies, the kid can act, and he's hilarious, as Murphy's assistant you'll see shortly into the film.

Also thought the meaning of the whole storyline was genuine and something you don't see that often in movies these days, basically Murphy gets down to 1,000 words in his life and once they're used up, so is his life.

Not a movie that is going to make you bust a gut laughing by any means, but its a funny, true comedy that will make you smile and feel good. Suggest renting it, especially if you're an Eddie Murphy fan, he lights up the screen, even if he can't talk, his facial expressions are priceless.
