Review of A Thousand Words (2012) by Ahmad L — 16 Jul 2012
Eddie Murphy is trying really hard for the past years to impress us and say "I am not dead like Jim Carrey" and he finally did impress us with A Thousand Words. This movie made me tear, yes it was when his mom was talking to him at the end but still I rarely tear over a movie.
almost every movie we see today has a message, or says it has a message, but they usually get off track and end up either 'shooting up the joint' or pure sex which leads nowhere. However, this movie delivers its message better than many Hollywood movies we've seen lately.
People did not like this movie mainly because "It was not funny" well if Eddie Murphy is in it it does not necessarily mean it's a comedy! If you have seen the trailer you would have concluded that you were not going to laugh all the time like the rest of Eddie's movies.
The story line was great and the acting was even better, however, some things should have been changed like he could have wrote what is happening to him on a paper and whenever someone asks him he just shows them the paper! OR he could have just took 3 days off until Senja came from Bolivia and helped him, which he did not.
All n' all great movie and watch it the right way; with family.
