Review of A Taste of Honey (1961) by Kevin R — 09 Jan 2008
My all time favourite film and possibly one of the best films ever made. It always cheers me up on the strength of the script writing and the poetry and wit of the dialogue. Filmed around Salford, Miles Platting & Newton Heath (most of which is still there)its the perfect kitchen sink drama of adversity beaten with the urgency of a sigh over lifes gritty hardships.
Even though it is a grim film of overcoming lifes endless adolescent hurdles it still leaves me smiling like a fool everytime.
