Review of A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) by Andrew M — 06 May 2008
I always thought the expression "I had chills" was just an expression. I was wrong. This movie doesn't really take you into any territory a person well-versed in J-horror (or K-horror, as the case may be) hasn't been to before, but it does what it does extremely well. The stylish minimalism works well with the beautiful setting, and while the story is bizarre, I have to admit, it works in a Gothic kind of way. That said, I was a little put off by the director's obsession with women's feet.
Still, I can't recall ever being so creeped out by a movie in my life.
