Review of A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) by David S — 05 Oct 2009

I gotta say, I was rather disappointed with this one. After becoming a big fan of Sundance Channel's Sunday night Asia Extreme films, I had developed quite a taste for Asian cinema. Only recently have I been able to see the film and couldn't help but hang my head a little bit.

I didn't hate 'A Tale of Two Sisters' but I didn't find anything to set it apart. It had some eerie moments and very good acting at times, but I felt like I was watching something I'd seen time and time again.

The cinematography was noteworthy, but in the end the film is about how the script comes together and this one just didn't. Watchable, but if you miss it, you can always catch a better asian film.
