Review of A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) by Josh E — 23 Jan 2011
This methodically paced and hauntingly beautiful tale is truly one of a kind. "A Tale of Two Sisters" is one of my favorite films and it exhibits a freshly ground blend of beautiful cinema, excellent performances, and careful writing.
This is no American shock film and any person who quickly tires of its classic tempo is better off watching Twilight or Transformers 2. The tension is composed in layers, with each veil of suspense building upon the last.
Everything turns around in the last act and the plot leaps forward pulling the viewer behind it, leaving them gasping for air. Watch this only with people who don't talk during films, constant conversation is a buzzkill and this movie is too precious to chance.
