Review of A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) by Jack G — 21 May 2011
Sure, this kind of mental stuff you might've seen before, but it's the execution of the material that counts. Kim Ji-Woon is so precise with his mood and takes his time with every shot as it needs (be it a longer one or a quick one) that it makes the mood effectively eerie, creepy, and often tragic.
What works is the tension. Not so much is in the last 15 minutes where it gets a little more confusing.
