Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by Hwasiang K — 23 Jun 2009
A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) is a one of the few undying classics that will forever remain as the essence of America's film making history.
With a simple and straightforward storyline that possesses plenty of powerful lines of dialogue, Vivien Leigh gives her best with her emotional acting as the main character. However, Marlon Brando seems to overshadow Leigh in this film adapted from Tennessee Williams' play with his natural flair for acting (from his younger days).
A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) is one of the few films that all well-deserving film critics should not pass on and forgo.
