Blanche, a southern belle who has lost an estate to back taxes, moves in with her sister and brutish husband Stanley (the legendary Marlon Brando). The film is fascinating in its portrayal of the duel between Stanley and Blanche as the latter is driven into a psychotic state.
The acting in this movie is phenomenal led by a menacing Brando (who stunningly lost the best actor bid). The movie is filled with subtle and not so subtle sexuality that certainly must have been shocking for its time.
