Review of A Street Cat Named Bob (2016) by Pam H — 05 Nov 2016
It would be a mistake to think that A Street Cat Named Bob is just a film about a cat. Bob is of course the star of the film and he plays himself beautifully (the stunt cats brought over from Canada weren't exactly up to the job) but the film is actually about a man who has nothing finding a reason to turn his life around through the love of one little stray ginger cat.
The utter helplessness of homeless James as he struggles to feed himself on the few pounds that he earns from busking makes you want to climb into the film and help him. The main theme of the film is about the subsequent transformation in James life that takes place through his relationship with Bob and is so uplifting and inspiring that my husband declared it to be the best film he'd seen since It's a Wonderful Life!
