Bradley cooper was the real revelation in this production. Singing, acting, directing. Lack of dialog at times that was nothing more than an F-U shouting match, how many times can we say it in 2 minutes of screen time? nice to see sam elliot in action again! Lady gaga underplayed her role and de-glamed for the part which is admirable.

I just didn't like her character or family in the film. It is a drama with music rather than a musical--as verified by its golden globe nominations--well deserved recognition.
