Review of A Star Is Born (2018) by Sweet K — 30 Oct 2018
Somehow, Bradley Cooper was so focused on doing his (poor) imitation of Sam Elliott, he forgot to act. I actually ONly saw his full FACE twice in the movie. Sam Elliott OUT-acted Cooper in every scene they did together.
I felt the Elliott casting in the role of Cooper's brother was awkward due to the age difference. Although I'm not a rabid fan of Lady Gaga, she was fabulous, with a face and voice made for the silver SCREEN and a natural acting ability.
Andrew Dice Clay did a fine, understated job. The music was incredible, although the opening scene did SOMETHING to my dad and it's not been right since (bring ear protection). Beautifully shot in NYC, I was glad I was it.
..it's what filmmaking is all about---lights, film, music and acting!
