Review of A Star Is Born (2018) by Straciatellas — 16 Oct 2018
A Star Is Born takes about 15 minutes to really grab you, and than doesn't let go untill the very last second of this marvelous film. First of all it's really enjoyable to see Gaga step in to the role of "shy" upcoming soon-to-be star.
This, combined with her vocals, makes it a fenomenal big screen debut. And while on the subject of vocals, Bradley Cooper suprised me and was able to meet the high expectations you get when advertising a movie about music featuring Lady Gaga.
Another home run was the casting of Sam Elliot, who seems to so fit for this part that it seems to have been written for his person. The on-stage scenes are as good as it gets and give you the feeling that your right there standing between the characters.
A top film, both musical and emotional, and by far the best rendition of this classic.
