Review of A Star Is Born (2018) by Kim H — 21 Oct 2018
I'm not sure I can say anything that hasn't already been said. I saw the movie premiere weekend and loved it. Just as I liked the 1976 version, I enjoyed this film even more. As a huge fan of Cooper and his previous roles in Hangover franchise, Silver Linings Playbook, and American Sniper, I knew he'd be great in this role. Even as a middle aged man, I appreciate the talents of Lady Gaga. While her material never moved me, her voice always has done "it" for me. She has successfully transitioned to acting and has done so with a bang.
I won't dive into the finer points of the film, as thousands of reviews have already done so. I will simply say the Cooper may be our generation's Clint Eastwood. Great director acting in his own films, doing a great job at both. If you are the one person who hasn't spent his/her 12.00, go spend a couple of hours watching a tragic love story powered by a fun soundtrack, excellent supporting cast members and two leads who have chemistry that jumps off of the screen.
