I have had just enough of fame to know that this film comes from a deep, true place. The struggle between intimacy and connection with an "audience"; what is lost and what is gained. This is a beautiful, heartfelt film that I loved.

Bradley Cooper as Jackson Main advises his protege that she has to dig from her heart or she won't have legs (or words to the effect) and that she has to find something she wants to say and say it in a way people want to hear.

Cooper has legs. This film is a classic. I am happy that I saw it on its opening night. The theater erupted in applause. It's a sad film, in that what is being cautioned about is real; but it's also joyous in that the love is real; for the art, for the characters, they for each other.

It's an achievement. The characters truly learn something, and teach us. The lessons are not simple. It's not just about jealousy, or loss, as earlier versions were; it's about fear of seeing what happened to you happen to someone you love, but not wanting to get in their way because it's their journey to take.

Aching.
