Review of A Star Is Born (1954) by Kevin C — 15 Aug 2008
Not as great as it was advertised to be. Probably the greatness of the film comes from the fact that this was Judy Garland's comeback film of her career. After four years from the spotlight and what seemed like she would never return, Judy Garland came back to prove she was not yet gone from the spotlight.
Garland lights up the cinema with her voice, beauty and talent. At the Oscars that year Garland was robbed for Best Actress by Grace Kelly. It was the closes vote in Oscar history that didn't end in a tie.
