Review of A Sound of Thunder (2005) by Rebecca C — 03 Apr 2009
The general concept is worthy, but the film is shit. Horrible script, horrible acting, horrible directing, and yes, I did read that there were budget issues which explain the half-ass special effects, which reminded me of that horrible french film Immortal. The characters are all over-generalazied which no development - the overly-greedy, policiatally corrupt businessman; the research scientist who wants to bring back wild animals (where there's no development or explanation of wtf is going on with that) who is also somehow an brave hunter man's man; the physicist who speaks of theories like he's explaining them in a classroom or to the camera but not really talking to other characters; the ex-scientist turned environmentalist throwing fake blood on people; etc etc.
This should be re-written, re-casted with a different director and a whole new view cause like I said, the concept is worthy, but requires more effort than this.
