I really like this film a lot, and I watch it a lot. But I can't ignore the terrible SCIENCE behind the storyline (that's right, I'm targeting the Science, not the special effects :-D The latter really doesn't bother me too much).

There are MANY problems, but the biggest one is that the butterfly's death should not have had any affect on time because, unless it could fly upward or away at a ridiculous speed, it was going to be killed anyway momentarily by the inescapable cloud of volcanic ash.

This alone is what really stumps the story, in my opinion. BUT... even so... I repeat: I really like this film a lot :) I would just love to see it done AGAIN, and accurately this time. I still fail to see how such a big mistake as this could have been done by the writers, but.

.. oh well. But for seriously, it had to have occurred to them at ONE point. I mean the character Travis himself mentions--in defense that killing the dinosaur is not going to harm anything--that the volcanic activity will turn the dinosaur's remains to ASHES.

I mean, heck, they didn't even NEED the mud swamp configured into the storyline to keep the dino from escaping. I doubt that even a Rex running up to 65 MPH could escape the initial volcanic ash-blast.

... but perhaps I don't know enough about that stuffs. I don't know. I'm probably not making any sense. It's late and I need to go to bed. I like the movie, okay? The end.
