Review of A Song Is Born (1948) by Adam H — 02 Jul 2009
Fun musical remake of the Gary Cooper film "Ball of Fire" (1941).
Take the same director (Howard Hawks), the exact same story, substitute Danny Kaye for Cooper and throw in a lot of jazz, guest starring Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey, Lionel Hampton and many more.
Personally, I like the original better, but this is a good one too (thanks mainly to Kaye and all the jazz music).
