Review of A Soldier's Story (1984) by The Man — 16 May 2008
This is my second-favorite film of all time. Saw it in the theatre with the parents as a teenager, and it has stayed with me ever since. Amazing performances by everyone involved, and fabulous music by Herbie Hancock.
Heartbreaking, difficult and honest, pulling no punches.
