Review of A Soldier's Story (1984) by Garrett O — 01 Nov 2009
Great whodunit. As the Rollins character investigates a murder of a black sergeant he discovers that it isn't about black and white but black and blacker. The movie's details about race in America and the Army is fascinating.
Adolph Caeser as the hated sergeant delivers a tour de force performance. Ultimately the murder is about men who have been scarred by racism--including the victim.
