Review of A Single Man (2009) by Paul K — 27 Nov 2010
A beautiful film. Too beautiful perhaps. I don't know why it didn't touch me as it ought, perhaps it's because I'm not gay. Mainly though, it's too beautiful. The Colin Firth character is so controlled that I couldn't empathise.
And that photography is so tasteful - and controlled - that it gets in the way of the story. I wanted to enjoy this more.
