Review of A Single Man (2009) by Matthew T — 30 Nov 2010
Neat, tidy tale of an English professor (the always watchable Firth) who decides to kill himself after the death of his fella. I loved the use of colour and drabness to show the motion of his moods between hope and despair, and though ultimately I liked the film rather than loved it I think it felt classily sophisticated throughout.
No mean feat these days.
