Review of A Single Man (2009) by Simon T — 30 Jan 2011
Well, as it turns out not all Colin Firth characters are charming but slightly forgettable. This is Firth's best performance so far, in a film that oozes a kind of 60s tragic hipness. Although the life-is-colour metaphor is a not too subtle one, it works well enough: the film is beautifully shot and the set design is brilliant.
