Review of A Single Man (2009) by Nick L — 03 Mar 2011
This movie started out depressing. They did a good job adding to the horrible, crushing, and pathetic loneliness that haunts firth's character. His performance was good but not great. It's a subtle performance of sad and depressing looks, that while appropriate didn't quit fully engage me.
I really liked this movie up until the last 1/3 of the movie. It was so horribly sad and slow moving I started to feel defeated myself. The last 1/3 changed the tone and flow of the film that I felt threw the ending off.
It still had the sane tone but it felt off and forced at the end. It's still an ok flick though.
