Review of A Single Man (2009) by Marat P — 20 Apr 2011
No frame is wasted in this beautiful debut from Tom Ford. Firth's performance is brilliant and haunting as a melancholic gay man living in 1960s America. Without Firth, the visuals would overshadow any emotional depth the film might have had.
Much like the single man himself, it's quiet and richly complex.
