Review of A Single Man (2009) by Bradford G — 02 Aug 2011
A very, very stylish film. Fortunately, it has substance to match its looks. Firth is excellent and, as he starts to come out of of his melancholia, genuinely moving and just a bit sexy. The story may be a bit downbeat for some tastes but it's the contrast of this sadness with the breathtaking beauty of every shot that makes this film satisfying.
