Review of A Single Man (2009) by Tor M — 03 Jan 2012
I never read about the plot before I gave this one a chance. Little did I know that this is Tom Ford's first movie, and I must say I'm impressed with his debut. Colin Firth is darn good, and he is supported with other great performances here.
The plot is quite sad, but it has a lot of brighter moments as well. The best thing with the film is the fantastic use of color, or colorfilters. You can almost feel George's feelings when the brighter colors appar, and the same way when things turn gray.
The music is mighty good and I also enjoyed the ending a lot. A well produced film that got a attractive, new kind of style. The plot is good, not all that, but it's definetly worth a look only for it's visuals.
