Review of A Single Man (2009) by Graham K — 26 Dec 2012
I saw this long after the hype, and not brings fan of Colin Firth's other films, I had low expectations. How wrong I was.
He is perfectly cast as a gay, English professor repressing his emotions in 1962 Los Angeles, giving a superb depiction of grief, which is all the more powerful for its understatement.
It's a little too slick at times, but they're are equally some wonderful fantasy scenes which work well. Highly recommended.
