Review of A Single Man (2009) by D'brickashaw O — 25 May 2013
Colin Firth, pure simplistic genius. His Academy Award Nominated Performance as George Falconer is just heartwrenching. A Single Man tells the Story of George Falconer and how he lost his lover Jim (Matthew Goode)and how he is bend on killing himself.
The movie takes place over the course of one day, with flashbacks of his life with Jim. Julianne Moore is just pure spellbinding as Charlotte, George's best friend who is deeply in love with George, the movie is just filled with beautiful music, beautiful sets and beautiful acting.
The film at times can be very funny and heartbreaking. Tom Ford's directing is just breath taking. I personally nominated the film for 7 Awards in my own movie awards including, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cast, Best Score, Best Art Direction, and Best Costume Design.
I give the Film **** out of **** Stars.
