Review of A Simple Twist of Fate (1994) by Gene S — 13 Jun 2007
What's wrong with "traditional and predictable conclusions"?
This film has an *incredible* cast, and is based on a wonderful piece of literature. But it doesn't rely on those factors. What could have been a sad, sappy, cheese-fest, instead shows Steve Martin and Catherine O'Hara giving deep, dramatic performances (and Martin's Banjo talents), and a deeply emotional character study. Definitely in my all-time favourites.
