Review of A Simple Plan (1998) by Michael H — 26 May 2013
The climax gets a little ridiculous, but the tension is brilliantly ratcheted up by Raimi until that point. Wrong turn after wrong turn lead to perhaps the only wrong turn in the script (the aforementioned climax) but it's a brilliant flick (with a standout performance by Billy Bob) that masterfully creates an atmosphere of palpable tension by its (admittedly ridiculous) climax.
Shame about that climax though. Did I mention it was a bit of a silly plot twist?
