Review of A Shot in the Dark (1964) by Donald W — 16 Jan 2010
This was the first sequel to the original Pink Panther movie that introduced the Inspector Clouseau character character. The opening credits are OK but lack the hip Pink Panther character. The movie was the first to focus on the Clouseau character.
Peter Sellers' physical humor still is funny after 45 years. The funniest part of the movie is when he goes into a nudist camp. I first saw this movie in 1978 at a Pink Panther film festival at Oklahoma State University Student Union Theater.
They showed this movie and the three existing Peter Seller's Pink Panther Movies on two separate days. I laughed my ass off. When I got my first Laser Disc player I got this movie as soon as it was available.
When I was living in an apartment I invited a group of singles to my apartment to watch this movie. About 20 folks showed up. Everybody had a good time. Somebody brought more bags of chips than they could eat and left me with them.
It took me months to get rid of all those chips.
