Review of A Shot in the Dark (1964) by Goran M — 25 Sep 2010
No doubt, a perfect comedy! The best from the series, best from Blake Edwards, an outstanding piece of cinema! Peter Seller returns once again as a bumbling French detective, who takes on another ridiculous journey of crime solving.
This is such a laugh riot, it's intelligently written, has great timing and a superb flow, all the comedic parts looks so spontaneous and in a right place, while keeping' the story straight and not messing with general plot.
The entire premise of the film is essentially just a series of opportunities for Sellers to make full use of his brilliant physical comedy skills wrapped around a twisty murder mystery, as Clouseau struggles to prove that the prime suspect is actually innocent.
Great film, a timeless classic.
