Review of A Shot in the Dark (1964) by Aman A — 23 Aug 2011
One of my all time favorite comedies, and the best of the Pink Panther series. This is the film where Peter Sellers begins to perfect the character of Inspector Jaques Clouseau. The cast is fantastic and the whole movie has a nice, loose, playful vibe, so even if you're not laughing at every joke, you will remain amused.
Return of the Pink Panther might be funnier, but this is the better movie. Perfect pacing, acting, editing, and script. Ironically, as the strongest film in the series, this lacks the Pink Panther-- both the cartoon character and the diamond.
