Review of A Shine of Rainbows (2009) by David Ray G — 25 Jul 2010
There aren't many things in this movie I didn't love. I loved every single of the characters and the way they developed. I loved every technical aspect of it. I loved the performances. I loved the story. I loved County Donegal (the location in Ireland this movie was made). I loved that baby seal and wish I could hug it. I loved knowing what's it like being in a rainbow, not just seeing it. I pretty much loved everything. Start to end.
It moved and touched me, the characters are just so real and have an inner glow - Tomás is a character that captured my heart, and that's not a frequent phenomenon. Certainly, it's not perfect, but for me, it came close to being. Call me overly sentimental if you want...
