Review of A Serious Man (2009) by Giuseppe P — 30 Mar 2011
I didn't connect well with the Jewish aspects of this tale, but I do delight in the Coens' perverse subversion of mainstream plot conventions. They simply refuse to give the audience what it wants. My best laugh in the film was when the closing credits unexpectedly popped onscreen!
Thirty years from now, the Coen brothers are going to have one of the most legendary catalogs in cinema history.
