Review of A Serious Man (2009) by Charles B — 10 Jul 2014
It's oddly compelling, it's beautifully shot, and it'll make you think, but "A Serious Man" has serious problems. Basing the merits of the film on its religious undertones may be the only way to justify the film making any sense.
Ultimately, the story lacks cohesiveness and fails to gel. By the end, you may ask yourself, "Is this film missing a reel?".
