Review of A Serious Man (2009) by Levi P — 01 Mar 2011
Dear Joel and Ethan Coen,.
When I began watching your film 'A Serious Man' I couldn't help but feel like I had seen this plot before in your other films. You have a male middle-aged man as the main character and terrible things begin happening in his life. Then people begin making ridiculous requests of them which only the main character and the viewer find to be ridiculous. I'm not saying this is a bad movie; it's not at all. This feeling began to subside as the movie went on and the character fleshed out, but just as I was really starting to enjoy the movie you slammed us with one of your completely open endings that explains nothing.
Thank you, Levi Peretic.
