Review of A Serious Man (2009) by Jose D — 15 Aug 2011
In order to get this movie, you must be familiar with the Book of Job, or be a Jew, or both. I have never read that book nor practiced Jew-Jitsu, so for me it barely made sense. Why can't a filmmaker just a make an accessible movie? One that makes sense on its own, without requiring that the viewer have prior knowledge of some book beyond his Jew-risdiction?
