Review of A Serious Man (2009) by Scott W — 21 Oct 2011
I like the Coen brothers a lot, but I think this is one of their weakest efforts. It just didn't work for me at all. It was just boring. The long scenes where Larry went to see a Rabbi made me want to hit fast forward.
Too many of the storylines I could care less about. And it just wasn't at all funny. The best part of the movie was probably the first five minutes, which was basically an entirely different movie.
Between this and Burn After Reading, the Coen brothers need to step up their game a bit.
