I think sometimes people like to label a movie as crap just because the ending is open and things go unresolved. Filmmakers do those things for a reason, it's not incompetence. This movie is a bit of a puzzle, to be sure, but not every puzzle is solvable.

That's just something that occurs in life. Ditto for endings - not everything has a resolution, and the abruptness of this film's conclusion implies that the story, and Larry's remarkably bad luck, is not over even if the movie is.
