Review of A Serbian Film (2010) by Zach M — 06 Feb 2012
This is following the format that films like Hostel and Human Centipede have done, shock horror with a hook.
A retired porn star gets offered a ton of money to make an artistic porn movie for a mysterious George Michael look-a-like.
He doesn't know anything about the movie he's going to make and of course as he is making it he finds it to be too much for him so he quits.
That's where it goes in a terrible direction. Almost everything from here on out is him remembering what happened because he had woken up three days after he quit with no memory of what happened. We trace back his steps and slowly find out as he remembers. Then he finds the tapes of the film, drives to the forest and watches them.
Honestly by this point it doesn't really matter what happened and honestly I disliked the use of the tapes to show what happened and the flashbacks.
It was an alright movie, not shocking at all because it's no different than a lot of the shock horror movies.
Lots of nudity, some violence, and stupid child rape. A scene where the lead fucks a one eyed man's empty eye socket with his dick to kill him was quite humorous.
The best part of the movie was actually the score, it was a really good electronic score.
